We are creating soundscapes using picture story books such as 'Little Red Riding Hood' as motivation. Then retelling the main ideas by drawing symbolic representations of the main ideas. After the drawings are completed the children then match up either body percussion, voice or musical instruments to tell the story.

Upper School Music
Today Upper School were composing a tune made from their own name. They had to decode their name into music notes and then play it on a glockenspiel or the keyboard.

Music with Junior School
I really enjoyed my first day in music today with Junior School. Now I am looking forward to the Middle and Upper Schools over the next two days. It has been really interesting finding out about what the Junior School want from music and what sorts of music they listen to. I can see that my iTunes allowance will have to be increased to keep up with the children's tastes in music. I am now enjoying my updated music on my MP3 player especially the Black Eyed Peas. Thanks JSC and JSB.
